Day 46 - November 1

"Malibu - 27 miles of scenic beauty"...at least that's what the sign says.  Maybe the people of Malibu have never ventured far enough north to visit Oregon or even Northern CA, but that's where we found the real scenic beauty...Malibu was more like 27 miles of ridiculously huge houses blocking our view of the ocean.  We eventually made it through - there was car traffic and bicycle traffic and we were more than relieved to finally find the bike path into Santa Monica.

We enjoyed our ride along the beach.  There were tons of people on rental bikes and rollar blades and we stopped to watch some beach volleyball and then to search for a slackline at muscle beach with no luck.  We found some music and sat and did some people watching by the pier.  Eventually we started to make our way up Santa Monica Blvd.  We found a Goodwill store right off the bat and while Brian sat with the bikes outside, I found us some "new" clothes. - which made my day by far.  Soon we were passed most of the shopping and thrown into the craziness of the traffic.  Sometimes there would be a bike lane, and then it would stop and we rode for what seemed like forever to finally turn off.  It was a relief to be done with riding for the day and soon clint met us outside his apartment.  We cleaned up and changed into our new clothes and then went to get some dinner.  We're looking forward to walking around Hollywood during the day.  Today we're headed to the farmer's market(that's right - we even managed to hit a farmer's market in L.A.!) and tomorrow we might try and get free tickets to a show.  We'll take whatever we can get, we just want to see how everything works.

This morning we finally got to have milk with our cereal!!! it's a good day! peace love bicycles
