Day 40 - October 26

I was sad to leave Morro Bay, but It was nice to see that we would be riding on back roads in the country for most of the day.  It didn't take us long to get to Pismo Beach and we decided to go to the state park to set up camp before going back into town to find internet.  The roads were just one big mess of Rvs and huge pickup trucks hauling ATVs around since apparently Pismo Beach is the only beach in CA that you're able to drive on.  When we got to the campground, we were told that they no longer have the hiker/biker sights and we would have to pay $20 to camp since they have problems with homeless people coming in, setting up and then not wanting to leave.  Brian and I were both kind of annoyed at the answer we got about that, but we headed back into town with all of our crap on the back of our bikes anyway.  We found all the touristy shops in Pismo Beach and searched all over to find some internet.  Eventually someone sent us to the pool hall, which was probably the last place we would have looked.  We took care of all our business and on our ride back to the campground, where we were dreading having to pay so much just to pitch a tent, the day started to look up.  We headed to check out the farmer's market - the very small farmer's market.  It was the saddest one we've seen in all of them that we have visited on this tour, but it did give us some entertainment for a good three hours and of course we couldn't pass up the cookies and strawberries.

Before the farmer's market we had stopped at a mosiac gallery that a couple had set up in their yard.  We looked at all of their artwork and spotted the perfect place for a tent.  Brian gave me 300 rummy points to ask if they would mind if we camped there for the night and eventually i did.  We never saw them after we asked, since we didn't head back to their house until after the farmer's market when it was starting to get dark and were out before it was light at 6:30 this morning.

There aren't any pictures since the RV parks that were abundant around Pismo Beach didn't give for much to look at.  Just one picture of the tiny farmer's market, and if you really want to see it, we can show you when we get home.
