Day 39 - October 25

I'm guessing that Brian and I no longer have the ability to sleep in...that or the fact that we go to bed before 8:00 screws the whole sleeping in concept up.  We were up almost earlier than usual - and here's the shocker:  I got out of bed and made the oatmeal today!! maybe i was just excited about kayaking, but i figured i should at least give brian a break 1 of the 53 days were out on this tour.  It was nice not to have to pack all of our stuff up this morning and we headed over to the bay to meet for our kayaking tour.

We got lucky with our tour starting at 9 just when it was high tide.  We started seeing all kinds of birds and the guides told us about all of them. There's a heron reserve along the bay and there were so many birds just hanging out there. We even watched a pelican dive into the water to catch a fish.  The sea lions were out hunting fish too and the harbor seals were curious about us as some of them followed us along as we rode to different sections of the bay.  One swam right under our boat!  We paddled to an oyster farm, and then to the dunes where we had time to explore and run up and jump down them before lunch.  Overall, I think Brian and I both enjoyed today's tour more than the one we took on Lake Superieor - We weren't expecting to see so much wildlife, but it made for a more interesting day.

We've made another pit stop at the library and afterward we're heading downtown to the farmer's market(we seem to be hitting alot of them on our way down the coast) and then to the used book store to see what we can find since we need something to keep us busy on these short days of riding we have ahead of us.
