The day after Chichen Itza we were knackered so we headed to bed at about 9.30 to be woken up at 10 by a knock on the door. We didn't answer but looked through the peephole and there was a guy stood there with a black box on the floor and then the guy left but left the box behind. A few seconds later he came back and opened our door but we had the catch across so i shut the door and asked who it was but i couldn't hear the answer so we just left it and rang reception who then rang back saying they'd looked around but couldn't see anyone.

In the morning we told Christian our rep about it and he took us to guest services who checked it out and found out it was maintenance doing inventory. They said that he came in thinking no-one was there and then when we were he panicked and ran. In the morning it sounded stupid but at the time we were really freaked out.

However, as compensation we had chocolate covered strawberries sent to our room....We should complain more often.
