I'm going to jam three days into one as I have to start putting some packing together and get ready for returning.

So Thursday we celebrated the giving of thanks with copious amounts of food and lots of laughter. Apparently the only things missing were the tears and some sort of family argument... though there was an argument over Bette Midler's version of Peggy Lee's songs!

It was a great day, unfortunately the photos are all on Simone's camera however.  There was the usual Thanksgiving fare - turkey, cranberry, sweet potato, pecan, creamed potato etc etc and then Tim whipped up his amazing snapper pies to add a more 'Australian' flavour to the proceedings.

We went to friends of Tim and Simone's who live in Brooklyn in a gorgeous apartment, Michael and Don.  Michael not only was chef extraordinaire but also played for us on the piano (don't ask me how they got a grand up into a top floor apartment)!!

The next day, Simone and I went over to Williamsburg again for brunch and to pick up some stuff, afterwards we came back to ICP which had an interesting show on called Dress Code - bit of a mixed bag some works far stronger than others but the strongest works were all fantastic.  It also included one of the best cluster hangs I've ever seen.

We met Tim for dinner at a great tapas place back in SoHo whose chef has been featured as in Iron Chef.  Strangely enough for a Spanish place it was staffed by mainly Japanese wait staff and the chef is called Seamus!

Today we went to the West Village (and, yes, we did stop at the infamous Magnolia cupcake bakery and bought the most ridiculous looking cupcakes with snowmen!  I have to say the cupcakes weren't bad but it was the hot cider that I really loved and would go back for).  We followed that up by meeting Tim to walk on up to the Highline.  The Highline was gorgeous (see photos below) - such a great idea as a development for the city.  It was so wonderful to hear the wind in the grass.

Afterwards we made it up to Rockefeller Centre to go to the 'Top of the Rock' for sunset.  The city looked incredible with the Empire State building lit up in its Thanksgiving colours (orange and purple).  And I love the top of the Chrysler building which is so distinctive with its curves and lighting.

Tomorrow we're going to try and do both the Brooklyn Bridge and the 9/11 site but if we run out or time we'll just head down for 9/11... Sad to be coming to the end but looking forward to catching up with y'all x
