Thursday 03-06-08 Finally figured out how to make the boat go slow enough to shoot continuous video. Yesterday it was way too windy to control the boat and hit any close sequence of points. Still windy today, though not as much. Went South to North to the end of the island with Julius driving -- he was better able to steady the boat on the points. Then we drifted toward the south, while the wind blew us east to west -- diagonal track instead of parallel, but seems better quality of video and closer points. We were able to go slow enough that the camera would sink down. If it's too fast the camera won't sink to the bottom even with a pound of solder on it and a dive weight. (need a water wing like a NASCAR spoiler to send the camera down.) So we put the boat in Reverse -- at idle or just above -- doing that we can roll video all the time, then hit Mark on GPS every 20-30 meters. About 700 points so far. All the while trying Not to hit and corals with the camera.

Very glad to hear from Mike that they are reading the entries to Mother (Nain).
Note --->Also look for Amanda's journal at :

She has lots more good information and insights.
Nice couple from Wales and London left the Orchids for other parts today.

I uploaded some pictures to the entry about "Day 2," I think. Probably out of sequence, sorry. Look for the Photo symbol and "Recently Updated."

Had some emails from Kay and Meg Missing for a couple of days, then they all showed up at once. Wierd.
Will try to upload more pix. And hope to write more tomorrow. It's 11:15PM -- G'Night
Thanks again for your comments!
