Our first stop in Slovenia was Lake Bled. We somehow managed to find free parking right by the water, and decided to chill out for a couple of days. Lonely Planet had said that it was possible to go gliding there, but we went to several tourist offices, and finally the last one told us that they aerodrome used to take people up if they were in a good mood, but they didn't have their commercial licence for it. So we just went for a swim, then hired a row boat and headed out to the little island in the middle of the lake. Once we were there we did some more swimming, then headed to the Luge, which came down a rail, and was set up on a ski slope! The boys had fun trying to get down without using their brakes and we just laughed at them! We headed back to the vans (where we got wireless internet! Check out the early van tour photos if you haven't already!).

The next day we headed to Lake Bohinj, just down the road, then went over some mighty great big hills to get to Skcojan Caves, a UNESCO world heritage site. We did a tour, with a Slovenian girl who sounded a lot like an Australian. We saw the largest underground cavern in the world, and the whole thing was awesome. We then headed to Piran, on the tiny bit of coast that Slovenia manages to keep from Croatia and Italy. We hoped to go diving on a wreck there but unfortunately didn't organise it beforehand and the guy was too busy to take us. No matter it was a nice town, so we just wandered around and then headed to Croatia...
