I took a day trip north of Cairns to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation area. Started the morning off with a boat ride on the Daintree River where I got to see lots of wildlife-flying fox bats, green frogs and snakes that blended in well with the foliage and more crocs.

Later we went for a walk in the rainforest. Got to see massive trees, more critters and peaceful little creeks.

We hung out on the beach in Cape Tribulation for a while. As the signs suggest, it's not wise to go swimming there due to the deadly box jellyfish. Instead we went to nearby Emmagen Creek where we were told it was safe to swim. It was only after we had our swim that we noticed the crocodile warning signs-yikes!! We also had a lovely lunch with loads of exotic fruit. Funny, I eat most of this stuff living in Asia, but I never knew the names of most of them. The very rare and almost extinct Cassowary bird lives in this area, we were hoping to see one all day. Unfortunately we didn't get to see one, but I did get to add to my roadside wildlife sign collection. And I also got to feed a kangaroo!
