We arrived in Punta del Este from Tacuarembo and did we feel out of place!! Here we are walking with our backpacks and dogs through a beach town that looks like we are in Beverly Hills. We felt like the movie,"Down and Out in Beverly Hills". Luckily we only had a 4 block walk. We couldn't believe that there was even a Hostel in this town! The hostel was great, it was right in the main part of town and only one block from the beach.

We had a great time in Punta, met alot of great people and cooked thanksgiving dinner with a couple staying at the hostel who were from California. They taught us to play dominos after dinner.

The beach was wonderful...a wide, soft, sandy beach with lots of surfers to watch. Vic and I just layed at the beach, watched the surfers and read our books. A GREAT way to spend a few days!
