Well as you would expect there was no way we were going to take that bus ride again... so as we planned our way back up towards Santiago. We decided on the "Navimag" boat ride back to Puerto Montt.

The only problem we encountered was that they wouldn't let you board until 11:00pm and the town that it leaves from is so small, we could only find one restaurant and the owner was late so I guess it was a friend who actually opened it for us at 9:00 and served us beer until she got there at 10:00.
Needless to say niether of us were too hungry anyway since Vic has now caught my cold. We boarded the boat right at 11:00pm and were upgraded right away to a first class cabin (I don't know why, since we only booked a room on a lower floor without a private bath or window) first class was very nice and we really appreciated it with us both having colds.

The boat actually departed at 6:00am and arrived in Puerto Montt at midnight (but you don't depart the boat until 7:30am) It was a nice smooth ride. The boat is simular to ferries that we have back at home if you could imagine adding staterooms to them.

We both got all the rest we needed on the boat. I read and slept alot and I think Vic never got up again until it was time to depart the boat.
