After 3 loads of washing and hoping that it would dry, as the sun was shining but still chilly, Maureen and I headed into Edinburgh. Finding me some gloves and a nice warm scarf plus my jacket we were ready for the elements. We took a good ole Hop On - Hop Off bus and got the speil about the various sights around the city. Saw the Edinburgh Castle from many angles. Quite a sight to see. They were taking down all the seating that was used for the Edinburgh Tatoo performances over August. Got to see Greyfriars Bobby a famous dog with a story similiar to Red Dog in WA. Had yummy hot lentil soup to warm us up as the wind came in so had my jacket, scarf, gloves and layers of clothes on. Walked Princess Street and of course saw the multitude of Scottish shops with their tartans, cashmere wool scarves, clothes etc. Saw the Royal Palace but unfortunately didn't get an invite in!!!?? Lots of very solid looking buildings but also very dull because they are all grey/green/black as they are covered in city grime and algae because of the moist climate. Even saw 'McEwan Hall' which is supposed to be famous for the University graduation ceremonies that are held there each year. Oh yeah Ky saw a big dinosaur in the middle of the round- a-bout garden on the way to Edinburgh. He was bright green and looked like a Tauranosauras Rex.
