I had a great day walking about 7km (sorry for the km, but everything here is in metric and I don't have time to convert!) along the gorgeous Cable Beach. Wow , it's so beautiful. It's as tho Bryce Canyon met the Bahamas! You have all that amazing red rock like you see in Utah, running right up against the turquoise blue water that you see in the Bahamas! Definitely a killer combination.. Tho that sun will kill you. It was close to 100 degrees again today. If it weren't for the ocean breezes, I hate to think what would have happened. I think I got more of a tan from just today, than I did all summer! And all I had to worry about in the water was the box jelly fish, also know as "stingers" around here, and sharks, so "no worries" as the Aussies say
I ended up doing the camel ride at sunset, as that is something that you just have to do here in Broome.....I thought it might be a little too touristy, but it turned out to be quite lovely. There was a beautiful breeze blowing, the camel ride was rhythmically soothing, and everyone was so nice. What a way to spend my last evening in Broome....
I leave tomorrow for a 9 day camping safari through the Kimberly Wilderness, so it will be awhile before I will be able to communicate.
I miss you all very much!
