Where I stayed
Kibbutz Dgania B
My uncel Aria came to us at 8:00 am so we would follow him to the dining hall for breakfast. Kibbutzniks usually eat together but the kibbutz changed since I was there last in 1971. Now they charge for the meals.
We took a tour of the kibbutz. My uncle is an amazing artist and I dont why I didnt take pictures in his home when I was there. He does woodwork (carvings), stained glass & mosaics. I feel inspried to try it when I get home.
They have a dairy farm here which was pretty cool. They have a few pens for them, but one pen the cows were in were able to roam about by themselves and wore transmitters on one leg so that they wouldn't stray.
They also have a silicone factory that is used for the medical trade. They subsidize the kibbutz by renting out rooms to tourists and they also have a chocolate factory which was closed. Bummer!!!
It's Friday morning before shabbot and it gives enough time to drive back up along the Kinneret (Sea of Gallilee) towards Tiberias and head back towards Tel Aviv.
