The concept:
Described as a floating hostel, it brought together 38 travelers from across the world (mainly Aussie) on a boat which cruises the Adriatic seas stopping at 7 of Croatia's beautiful islands. It departed from and returned to Split over a 1 week period. The boat would dock in the afternoon at each location, leaving us to explore and enjoy each island. The boat departed early each morning. A swim stop was made each day before lunch.
The crew:
Sian, Jess, Tommo and I booked together. We also managed to convince Shane to join us from Busabout and Jess knew 2 lads from Contiki who also were on our boat.
The locations:
Split, Hvar, Trstenik, Dubrovnik, Mljet, Korkula and Makarska. All very beautiful, very remote, very unspoiled. Their is no denying however we would have enjoyed them more in the summer.
The weather:
3 days of sunshine. The remaining overcast, with intermittent rain periods. Still enjoyable......just!
The highlights:
Meeting great bunch of people
Climbing the "Mount Cucin" in Trstenik
7 day party
Doing incredible back flips and epic dives off the boat
Swimming in the most pristine water I have ever seen
Great barmen
White water rafting
Areas less than ideal:
Food and chef
Stench of fumes from the engine room in the morning
Weather/ end of season of travel
Overall experience: Brilliant!
