Woke up early and said my goodbyes. I felt quite emotional leaving. Pierrette and I had really gelled and we'd had some great conversations over the breakfast table.

The plane was small, the flight attendant bored, the view of Chicago flying in impressive. And O'Hare airport massive. The opinionated taxi driver quizzed me quite a bit and approved of the address! I was met by the nanny Melissa and we had a good chat. Lovely turn-of-the century house they're gradually improving. Oh, and the temperature was 37C.
Eva Pearson returned mid-afternoon and I was introduced to the kids: Eddie (4) and Jane (6). Initially shy, Eddie and I were soon playing with his Hotwheels and Jane tried to spook me. Such fun!

Eva took me to the Frank Lloyd Wright Studio and Museum, which was charming. Some beautiful furnishings, blending Art Nouveau with Japan and a touch of the Prairies.
We then made our way to the White Sox Stadium to met cousin Bill Pearson and his mate Tim. We downed several beers, had the customary hot dog and saw the Sox lose 1-9 to the Detroit Tigers. I loved it. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and they introduced me to a classic evening of Americana. Bill explained the rules, some of which I understood. I can see its attraction and would definitely go again. Tonight the temperature was still 29C.
