Camilla has always loved the Cranberries and we often play guitar and sing to some of their catchy tunes. As they had a concert in the Marquee in Cork City, we decided to make a family holiday of it. We stayed in an inner city hotel for five days and visited Cobh harbour (where the Titanic's fatal voyage left from); the Fota Zoo; Blarney Castle to kiss the stone; Ardmore beach (real sand) to check out the rock pools and play beach cricket (not often seen in Ireland); and swim in the Atlantic (for no less than a nanosecond).

The Cranberries were good but not spectacular (I saw Crosby Stills and Nash the following week in Dublin and they were spectacular); but we loved it - it was a dream to see them in Ireland. Afterwards, we went to a typical Irish pub and watched some typical Irish trad music. What a craic.
