Hi kids!
I have so much to tell you all, but no time. Yes, it IS exam week here in Dijon! Here's a quick overview of Brussels:
1) Waffles=YES!!! Beer=GROSS!!!! I loved the waffles...they are amazing. I had 2 waffles...and I've been dreaming of them ever since! The first one had bananas, chocolate, and whipped cream on it...the second one had whipped cream, candied pecans, and caramel on it...Oh My Gosh... Also, they like to serve these waffles, along with other desserts like ice cream and crepes, with little, tiny plastic silverware. They are very creative with it...my waffle fork (about 3 inches tall) also had a convient little blade on one of the tongs so you can cut your waffle. I also tried one of Belgium's 400 beers at a restaurant...took 2 sips, gagged, and passed the glass to Courtney.
2) Restuarants=jail...Court and I went out for lunch...ate all of our food, and after we'd already been there for close to 2 hours, asked for the bill. Our server says: "no, we're not ready for you to leave yet." Then, his little sidekick brings us 2 more beers and says "these are on the house"....riiiiiiiiiiiight. So evidently, they thought they could make us into their free advertisment and entice other people to eat here. It took me 20 more minutes to get our server to understand that we either paid now, or not at all.
3) Grand Place=most beautiful square in the world. I can't describe it...check out the video that I'm posting!
Well, I'm off to study for my architecture exam! It's going to be a busy last week here in Dijon, and I have to say, I'm a little sad that I'm saying good-bye!
XOXO
Kate
