Quite a cluster of cave temples around Ampang. The most popular ones are Perak Caves along Jalan Kuala Kangsar and Sam Poh Caves at jalan Gopeng. Caves were pretty packed with people and worshippers over chinese new year. Headed to perak caves first in the afternoon. The caves are special in a way that chinese paintings decorate the walls of the caves. There is a new staircase that leads up to the top of the mountain, offering great views of the city. Entrance and parking at the perak caves are free of charge. Sam Poh caves as well the as three other caves surrounding it is larger and more modern with newly painted statues. Parking here costs RM 3 per entry. A pretty normal place, many people come here to get their fortunes read and to pray to certain gods. The lesser well known cave temples behind sam poh caves are the thai cave temples and the Kek Lok cave temples. The Kek lok cave temple is much serene and beautiful with magnificent openings and formations on the walls.
