Wow. I made it to Colorado, somewhere I really always dreamed of seeing. Well. OK. so I've only seen 40 miles so far but tomorrow will start the real tour of this state.
After leaving the Grand Canyon, my goal was to reach the Four Corners before sunset. I made it by a half hour.
The drive took me through some very scenic roads on Navajo land.
I went through the Painted Desert which looks like someone had one of those sand art things and just poured layers of different colored sand on top of each layer.
I also got to drive through Monument Valley. is an area of free standing sandstone rock. Unfortunately, I was unable to go through the actual park, but I did get to see a lot of it from the road I was on. Next time I guess.
I arrived at Four Corners at 7pm and was able to stand in Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado all at one time. It's just one of those things you have to do.
I arrived in Cotez about 8 pm and where I will settle for the night.
