1.       Wednesday, February 27 -  Well, I have been putting the wrong date up for the last week.  This happens when you are traveling the days run into each other and who cares what the date is.  I have put up some pictures we took this morning biking to Seaside, Florida from our campsite in Grayton Beach State Park.  It is about a mile away and I just love Seaside what a quaint little village.  I also put up some pictures of the sunrise from our campsite early this morning.  George and I would love to buy a home in this section of the Panhandle.

After we biked we headed out to Destin, Florida for our next stop Henderson Beach State Park.   Our friends could not get in here and two other couples headed west could not get in either so George talked on the phone to them and about four couples that are headed west are going to stop at our next stop Big Lagoon State Park.  This should be the last time we see them before we all go different directions.

What can I say about Henderson State Park – stunning, stunning, stunning.   Private sites, walk to the beach, bike around the roads and enjoy a beautiful sunny day with the temperature near 70.   We only drove 18 miles today and tomorrow maybe 50 miles, then we will have to start to drive longer distances.  We really enjoy the Florida State Parks in the panhandle region!

Wednesday, February 27 – Henderson Beach State park, Destin, Florida    This campground is a gem.  We enjoyed camping here two years ago in May and are enjoying it even more in February.  The main problem is that if you don't have reservations you are not getting in.  Others campers we have met on our trip tried to get in when we were here and they were turned away at the gate.   The campground is in walking distance to the beach which is beautiful and near a Walmart, restaurants and shopping.  There are 60 secluded campsites with water, electricity, wifi located in four loops.  Bathhouses are clean and all have laundry facilities.  The hosts work hard to keep everything clean and are very informative and willing to help with any problems.  One can bike, hike on the beach or on the nature trail and nearby fishing is considered one of the best spots in the USA.  It is one of the most expensive Florida State Parks but it is worth it.  The day we were there the weather was great for biking, hiking and walking along the ocean.

OK. Enough already! Your prior posts just made us a little envious. We could handle that. But now this Henderson Beach stuff is too much! We almost hate you now :) Just kidding of course. That campground is great and the area is fun. Glad you are enjoying your trip. Keep the posts flowing!
