We went to Wilmington, NC about an hour and half away from Swansboro to tour the USS North Carolina that is moored in waters off of Historic Wilmington.  This was very interesting and it is amazing what the men on this ship lived through during WW2.  Just thinking about the oatmeal they were served and those men thought there were raisins in it but they were cockroaches.

Wilmington has a nice historic district with a River Walk and lots of small shops and restaurants.  We ate at one of the restaurants right on the water front.  Beautiful day in the 50's with the sun out.  Nice change of pace after the last two days driving a lot of miles and wondering if we would ever get here!  It was nice being with Steph again and seeing Rich and by coming down early she was not working the night shift so we were able to tour Wilmington.  It is also nice to see that these towns are preserving their historic districts and during the day and night young and old come out to enjoy the walk, visit with friends, and eating at all the unique restaurants.

Still worried about Justine home in Bristol without powere.  Hope her pipes don't freeze and hope she doesn't come down sick from being in the cold.  It was nice of her neighbors to help her shovel her walks, porch and driveway.

I'm having fun living vicariously through you guys!! Best of luck on your trip. It's nice to see your pics as you travel along. Wilmington does look so quaint. Give hugs to Steph and Rich for me. Be safe.
