I recently visited 2 local Rotary meetings - Brevard, and Pisgah Forest.

The Brevard Rotarians take over the Quarry Restaurant on Tuesdays and enjoy the live piano music played by a member. I was there for Veterans' Day, which was cool because many of the members are veterans themselves and spoke about their service. The speaker was from the Transylvania County Heritage Museum. She talked about the history of Veteran's Day and also the local "Walton's War" which was a result of a land dispute between Georgia, NC and SC. It's interesting to note that Brevardians could just have as easily been Georgians as North Carolinians!

The Pisgah Forest Club meets at the Glenn Cannon Country Club for breakfast.  Their fundraising has earned them several awards. I recently had a great dinner with the president, Jim Robard and his wife (also a Rotarian), Lynn. They've offically adopted me into the club ;-)

Both send their best wishes to District 3060 and look forward to hearing all about our trip upon my return.
