Drive through Northern Israel.
Day 16
Ztafat and surrounding area's, Isreal
4/21/09

Boker Tov, Ztafat (Safed) is beautiful in the morning. First, we went to a bakery and walked around to try to find some Internet then we ate, for lunch, Shwarma. Then we went on a car exertion: first we drove up to the Lebanese boarder there was a huge army hummer/tanks. You could look out over Lebanon (it's a very poor country). This where the "Good Fence" is. It is where Israel took Lebanese people into their hospitals during the wars. We tried to listen to what we where looking at but Isaac kept pushing the button to make it start over so the army guy hacked into the speaker and told us to stop it was intervening with what he was doing. Then we drove into the town of Quryot (ki-re-at sh-mo-na) Shmona, which is a town that was bombed in a war with the Lebanon. We got ice cream and chocolate and went and played in some huge park with a playground. We drove up to the Golan Heights , saw some Druze towns. Then we went to Mount Bental and old army baracks and remains of a volcano where an old bomb shelter/army base was. We went into one of the bomb shelters my dad was at the top and said "what would you do if I shut this door" and he did and we were trapped in darkness and is screamed then he opened the door and said yeesh, I felt like slugging him! Now we drive to Qazrin and try to go to dinner at this Meat restaurant. There a lot of cowboys in this town, literally. Lots of cows and cowboys. We called them and some poor girl had to directs us all the way there. FINNALY we got there and met the girl we were talking to, I had steak and French fries. We also had this really weird dessert it was like jello but milk.
