After my two-week farm stay in Murchison, I headed to Auckland to collect and repack my stuff and spend the last few days with my wonderful servas hosts Roz and Leo. I also stopped by at my friends Leo and Piper's place to pick up my clothes I left with them. When I return to Auckland in September, I will stay with them again before heading out to explore the North Island.
On Thursday, I left for Australia and arrived around 8am in Sydney. I was rather overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the big city, especially after spending 5 months in the beautiful South island of New Zealand and the last two weeks on a quit farm in Murchison. I met up with my hospitality club host Richard who lives in Panania. I stayed put here until Sunday when I went to pick up Diana. After not having seen her for a year,I was happy to see her emerging from the gate, dressed in flimsy summer clothes and flip flops. Her backpack is lost in transition somewhere between Baltimore and Sydney. Poor thing was freezing her bum off. Now, we sit here patiently awaiting her backpack so we can head out and explore the country.
