Where I stayed
We packed a tone of things into only two days in the great high desert town of Boise. The first day we cruised around town before going for a run and plyometric workout at the downtown park. Later that Tuesday, we decided to try our luck at some Bingo. The Big Gulp didn't even help us as we didn't win one game of Bingo but it was a good time trying. I mean, how many times do you get to play Bingo in Boise?
The second day we tubed the Boise River from east of town down through the middle of downtown. The trip was a good orientation of the area even though the water was a bit chilly. Following the tube trip and a quick change at the hotel, we went down to the town center to catch their weekly summer free concert series, Alive After Five. Dale Watson (who often plays around Austin) was the entertainment for the afternoon. Following the concert series we couldn't pass on a chance to see Lyle Lovett and his Large Band at the Idaho Botanical Garden. What a full day...but we weren't done yet. We wrapped up the night back at our hotel singing some bad-@ss karaoke. All the favorites...Sister Christian, So Alive, Big Brown Beaver, This Land is Your Land...none were left out. Again, how many opportunities do you get to sing karaoke at the Roadway Inn at midnight on a Wednesday in Boise, Idaho, USA?
