Backpacker Campervan
Queenstown was an adrenaline junkie's dream filled with many things to do in that regard.
We took a gondola up to the Luge - downhill race thingy. We raced the Luge track 5 times and Darren won 3-2. We also checked out some live music at one bar's 1st anniversary party.
We decided to bungy off the Kawarau Bridge for our 2nd wedding anniversary. Kristi bungy jumped before in college, but this was Darren's first. We drove out to the bridge and took a look before jumping. Darren stalled a little bit and Kristi seemed ready to do it. Darren jumped first while Kristi took pics and a video. Darren jumped off with a loud yell and Kristi met him at the walkway coming back up. He described it as terrifying, but after doing it, he wanted to go again. Kristi, still thinking this is going to be ok, walks up to the bridge, puts on the harness then gets her feet shackled up and ready to go. It was then she realizes she has to make herself jump off the bridge...43 meters down... Kristi now realizes why Darren described it as terrifying. It simply was terrifying.
We're both glad we did it....Happy 2nd Anniversary!
Other than that the weather was hit or miss the entire time in Queenstown which limited some of our activities. We also got booted out of town one morning at 7am for 'Freedom Camping' which is camping anywhere other than at a designated pay campsites. Apparently the Queenstown City Council is more interested in threatening folks with $400 fines rather than keeping the golden eggs (tourist $$$) rolling in!

What an anniversary, now I gotta get myself married, for real. Xtreme, that's the kinda crap I'm into: downhill bungy shark luging, Mountain Dew, all that.
Keep on Rockin Webbers, Lazer
