Flight to Borneo at ridiculous o'clock. On the way to airport there was huge lightening storms which are not the thing you want when you are about to go up in the air. Checked into flight and then had first Maccy D's of the trip. I know but at 5am I needed western food.

Whilst waiting to in departures I realised that just about everybody had loads of hand luggage. I mean some people had the suitcase you take on a two week holiday as their carry on luggage. One small elderly lady had a bag that was roughly the same size as her which she could barely lift yet no one seemed to raise an eyebrow. Air Asia obviously are not the enforcers that Easyjet and Ryanair are with there carry on luggage.

The flight was fine; I slept for most of it. I landed in Palau Labaun as I was originally going to go to Brunei but as I had worked out a rough plan and time was a little tight I headed to the port and jumped on the boat in the opposite direction to KK. Three hours later we trundled into the harbour past some beautiful looking islands just offshore. I walked into town found a guesthouse and dumped my bag. KK was destroyed in the war and as a result was rebuilt in a grid system afterwards making it very easy to navigate. KK doesn't have much except loads of shopping malls and several cool looking bars.

In the evening I headed to the seafood village on the waterfront and for dinner had massive and an incredibly good tuna steak in a chili sauce, prawns and some pickled vegetables all for the grand total of 2 pound. To drink I had a rather strange lemon drink which was warm at the top and cold with ice at the bottom. It tasted awesome though. After strolling around after dinner and dodging a huge thunderstorm I headed back to the guesthouse.
