Finally, the long-awaited day tour to Ephesus. There were supposed to be four Ephesus, the first Greek city was built in about 1000 BC. Ephesus used to be the chief port on the Aegean but like we learnt in real estate: location, location, location....as the harbour silted up, the city lost its location advantage and declined. I saw a lot of superb pictures, especially of the Library of Celsus and couldn't wait to see it for myself. I must say that I wasn't disappointed: I get to see a lot of old rocks and old marble :). Most of the valuable ruins are housed at the Ephesus Musuem in Selcuk, so a visit there will nicely complement the visit at the site. I also saw one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: The ancient Temple of Artemis - now a nesting place for a stork.....*laughs*
