While in Italy, I traveled to Naples for High School.  This made it difficult to do much outside of school as we spent so much time on the bus.  I was, however, heavily involved in Boy Scouts.  Scouting was almost non-existent when we got there so our family worked to build a pretty good program.  I think this helped me grow up a lot.

Italy was also the birthplace of my youngest brother, Willy.  We think it was something in the drinking water because all of the wives of husbands on my Dad's ship seemed to be having babies.

To be totally honest, I was not very happy for most of the time we spent in Italy.  I had lots of friends that I left behind in Chesapeake and I really missed not being able to move on with them into high school.  Looking back on it, I think I wasted a big opportunity.

My Dad retired from the Navy and we moved back to Chesapeake.  I was really excited about this move back to the states and I decided to surprise my friends with my return.
