Karen and I had a quiet night at the WalMart in Houlton. We awoke to a foggy overcast morning but the temperature was a nice 14C. We had no problems driving along the Interstate towards Bangor, in fact, Karen drove for about an hour. This was the first time that Karen drove the motorhome on a proper road, with other cars on it. We stopped for lunch at a rest station in Gardiner, what a great spot.

We left the interstate and travelled about 20 minutes though a beautiful country setting to get to our campground in Pownal, very close to Freeport. We got settled and then headed to Scarborough to shop at Cabelas. Cabelas is an outdoorsmen's mecca. Both of us were blown away by this place. There were stuffed animals and heads everywhere, shelves and shelves of guns and ammunition. There is everything that anyone would want or need in the outdoors. We bought a jerky gun to make our own jerky in the motorhome and bought some other things.

After spending two hours in Cabelas, we headed to Freeport. We ate supper in LL Bean granddaughter’s restaurant: seafood chowder for Karen and franks and beans for me.

Back to StarTwo to make plans for tomorrow.
