Midday temperature: 28C
Today Greg and I biked a portion of the Pinellas Trail. This is a rails-to-trails that extends from Tarpon Springs, north of Clearwater, to St. Petersburg. The trail is 61 km long one way and we did 50 km round trip from Clearwater to St. Petersburg. The trail was fairly easy going, fully paved and level grade except for the overpasses.
We started riding in the late morning when the temperature was about 20C, and it was quite pleasant. But by the time we turned around to come back, the temperature had climbed to 28C, really too warm for biking. I know, I complained about the cold and now I am complaining about the heat.
The trail passed through wooded areas and through the heart of the city areas. There really wasn't anything interesting on the trail so we didn’t take any pictures, not one.
