Midday temperature: 21C
Today Karen and I went to Lake Martin to Bryan Champagne's Swamp tours about 20 minutes away from the park. Each boat holds 12 people and our boat was full with a great bunch of people. We thought it was going to rain but the sun came out and we had a wonderful time. We started out into the lake and into the swamp, we saw our first small alligator right away. Our guide Guy LeBlanc showed us anhingas which is from the cormorant family along with other birds. There were lots of turtles sunning themselves on the fallen logs around the swamp. We started to see more and more alligators floating in the water and sunning themselves on logs and grass hills, some of them were as large as 6ft. wow.
Guy took us through the bird reserve, there were white ibis, cormorants, blue herons all starting to build their nests in the trees. We had a wonderful time in the swamp today.
We drove home had lunch and I got out my fishing rod and started fishing behind Star. I was able to catch 7 small fish and I cooked them on the BBQ for supper and they were really fresh. We went for a walk around the park at sunset, beautiful. This park is a well kept secret

Did you ask Guy if you could get a family name discount?? Wonder if he's somehow related to us!
