I am feeling a lot better today. Thank goodness. But the drive today began just the same as yesterday: straight as an arrow roads, no scenery to speak of. But after about two hours of driving, the hills became flat topped and on their tops there were hundreds of wind turbines. We then started to see oil drilling pumps everywhere.
Our campground tonight is in a beautiful spot, on the Guadalupe River. It's 31C, clear blue skies, and just a little wind. Beautiful. We are only a couple hours west of San Antonio. We spoke with some native Texans while we were in Benson and they said that the only city in Texas worth spending any time is in San Antonio. They said that Houston and Dallas are just big cities and to stay away from them. Besides San Antonio, they recommended areas along the Gulf coast. So we plan to stay at a campground in southern San Antonio for about a week before travelling to Galveston on the Gulf coast. I am looking forward to seeing some salt water beaches.
