Casino del Sol

We travelled to Tucson today because we have an appointment here tomorrow to have some
minor adjustments done to Star.

The road continued from Yuma through more of the desert. We saw incredibly huge cattle yards, a solar collector yard, and pecan groves. But the most surprising thing we saw was snow! We could see snow topped mountains not too far in the distance and sure enough, on my map it indicates that there is skiing up there.

We decided to park in the parking lot of Casino del Sol, a casino not too far away from the service centre. The casino is only a few years old and looks like it belongs in Las Vegas. It’s huge and has a realistic sky ceiling: it’s domed, is painted to look like the sky, and changes with the sunset. It’s a
really neat affect. Greg and I joined the casino club and in return received vouchers for the casino buffet worth $20 and $10 credits each. So we had a really good supper and then played the 1 cent slot machines. It was a lot of fun and we walked away with almost $28 more than when we walked into the casino.
