It's another beautiful day; the midday temperature reached 72F

From the park, we drove on to Pennsylvania. It’s a beautiful state, and we travelled on highways that took us by huge dairy farms and on top of foothills. There were so many scenic views. We passed by many well kept rest areas and tourist information centres. It makes us wonder why Nova Scotia can’t have similar sites.

But what Nova Scotia does not have, thankfully, is the truck traffic. I’ve never seen so many trucks on the road. Trucks easily outnumber cars.

We spent the night in Bellefonte, PA. It’s only a few miles away from Penn State University. A beautiful campground with incredible flower and vegetable gardens, decorated with chainsaw woodcarvings of animals and life sized blow up figures of Penn State football players! But the incredible thing is that the woman who completed our campsite registration owns an island near Port Bickerton in N.S. She hasn’t been there for a few years but when she lived in Connecticut she would go every summer.

We went into town for some groceries and in the seafood department there was a big sign over a tank of lobsters: FROM CANADA. We asked where, and the man said Maine! We said that the sign says Canada, and he replied, "Oh ya, I don’t know where in Canada".
