Today was our final day in New York and we still had one thing left on our list - the Museum of Natural History.

Unfortunately our shuttle was due at 12pm and the museum didn't open until till 10am, so time was against us.

Not one to let time get in the way of things I want to do however, Richard and I broke all records for how fast one can do a museum and how short a time you can spend there.

We raced through the fabulous dinosaur exhibit, through the mammals, North American animals, ocean life (with a full size blue whale - cool!), human origins, minerals and gemstones before literally running back to the hotel to pack and make it downstairs in time.

It was an amazing place - we could have easily spent a whole day there but to see a T Rex skeleton and a Blue Whale was very cool and we will take the time to visit the London museum in the next few weeks.

After an easy ride out to the airport we breezed through check in and customs and relaxed for a couple of hours watching the Olympics before our flight left at 4.30pm.  The plane wasn't full and we had 4 seats between the 3 of us which was a treat and meant we could spread out more than normal.

So after a whirlwind trip to New York, we are on our way again.  We loved the city - it was full on, vibrant, hot and humid, jam packed with a huge diversity of people, fast paced, crazy and had the best food we've tasted.

Loved it!
