After an easy 2 hour flight, we arrived in Panama where we were met by Alistair's tour company and taken to our hotel about 40 minutes away. The ride to the hotel was fascinating - we went through the city which had a wide mix of dilapidated, crumbling buildings as well as modern high rises.
Our hotel is fantastic - we are on the 3rd floor looking out over the canal. Huge container ships come pass regularly which are amazing to see.
After grabbing a snack at TGI Fridays downstairs, we decided to walk down the promenade to a restaurant the guide had recommended. We thought it was only a half hour walk but about 1.5 hours later we arrived there, in the dark, with tired, grumpy kids!
There isn't a lot of English spoken here so we are appreciating Tameka having learnt Spanish for a few years at school and sign language is also coming in handy!
We have an early start tomorrow so off to bed at a reasonable hour.
