We've had a lovely few days since the last post.  Thanks for the messages, it's great to hear from you all!

We have explored West Bay and up that part of the island.  We found a lovely wee cafe/retaurant called Timbuktuu with great food and the biggest dishes you can imagine.

The drives have been so interesting - we see HUGE iguanas on the sides of the road in the middle of the day sunning themselves.  The smaller ones are fast but the bigger ones just sit there.  There are hens and roosters roaming the sides of the streets running wild all over the island.

The houses are an eclectic mix of basic to mansion-like, old style to modern and everything in between.  Some properties are well maintained, others are rambling and wild and of course the flowers/trees/bushes etc. are all different being so tropical.  There is also a lot of construction on the island with new houses and apartments going up in many areas.

Driving is easy and everyone is laid back - we have had to adjust our Christchurch-driving to island style where you slow down to let cars come in from side roads or even on a main road coming to a complete stop for people wanting to cross the road.  When you're not in a hurry it is a far more relaxing way to drive!

We enjoyed the BLACKCAPS win a couple of days ago but were disappointed with today's result with Ross coming so close to carrying the team through.  It's quite hard to take all the celebrations and ribbing from a very parochial WI population but we're doing our best!

Had a fabulous time snorkelling at Smiths Cove today.  We have seen some amazing fish including a HUGE lobster (a foot long at least) and big fish plus an incredible range of colourful ones too.  I can't get enough of snorkelling - it is just so magical being in the water hearing only your breathing and seeing a whole new world of amazing creatures.  Love it!

Will add some photos with captions to fill you in on more of the things we've been doing the last few days.

Glad to see the temperatures have been warmer at home rather han the bitter cold we'd all been suffering through :-)

I remember Smiths Cove, one of my favourite places. Fab photos. Enjoy every minute. We had 22 degrees today, dropped to 10 within about an hour tho! Just keeping you up to date Rich! Xxx

Not envious at all. Really. MUCH! Looks so great - enjoy the sun - not looking great for England, and it's stormy here! see you soon.
