What I did
Disneyland & California Adventure Park

We wondered when we were planning our trip whether being at Disneyland on July 4 would be a choice we might regret. Happily it was in fact a GREAT choice! Although there were so many more people there than yesterday, they all seemed to be walking, eating and shopping because for the most part the queues were shorter.

I have never seen more red, white and blue in one place before! The kids were dressed like the American flag, every 2nd guy had a flag on his shirt and the girls wore red white and blue ribbons in their hair.   It became quite natural to say "Happy 4th" when you met people and by the end of the day after all the parades, singing, and shows even we were feeling rather patriotic!!

Sadly Richard spent the day close to the bathroom having picked up some sort of tummy bug so Michael and I hit Disneyland and California Adventure Park in earnest and had another awesome day.  We did lots of the rides in Tomorrowland as well as a couple of fun trips through Winnie the Pooh adventures and Pinnochio's world.

After a quick trip back to the hotel to check on Richard and to change in to dry clothes after a particularly wet ride down the Grizzly Rapids, we were back to ride on the new Cars "Radiator Springs" ride again.

We couldn't go to Disneyland without going on the Teacups which were hilarious and we even went in the Small World ride again although that came close to mental hardship when the ride stalled and we sat still for 5 minutes with the same tune on repeat!

The July 4 fireworks before the World of Color Show were spectacular and the show itself amazing.

A couple of last rides on the toy story shoot em up game and we dragged ourselves to a cafe to get some much needed food and fell in to bed exhausted but filled up on the magic of Disney. I was a bit doubtful about how much we would enjoy Disney before we came but, like the millions before me, I loved every bit of it!

Michael described the day as "awesome, tiring, thrilling, exciting, fun".  Enjoy the photos  :-)
