The popular Tenta in Kalavasos is a site that I wanted for years to visit, and I am given this opportunity now on this visit while I am staying at the Library Hotel.

Mr. Savva Varnavides the owner of the Library Hotel is taking me and another couple from Holland, for lunch at the nearby village of Maroni, so we make a stop to see the site.

Alike  Choirokoitia, Kalavasos – Tenta provides evidence for the initial establishment, at the end of the 7th millennium B.C. -The Cypriot Aceramic Neolithic.  The Tenta site comprises a small village with houses clustered around the upper part of a small natural hill.  With the exception of piers with structures and buttresses, virtually all of the architectural elements at Tenta are curvilinear, if not circular.

I give the thread for people who are interested for more details below:

My friend Savva is a poet himself and I have come across a poem he wrote.

This poem is in memory of Cgrustuaab Schoeman. I am giving some lines of this poem here.

ON ANGELS

Angels are always angels of love,

     so are the messages

     they bring to the world.

Nobody knows the content

     of an angel's message,

     not until it has been

     received in one’s heart.

     Angels meet mortals

by chance on untrodden ways

     of their common wandering.

Ignorant of their own nature,

     angels wander without

knowing what they search for.

     The hope of meeting

         the unexpected

wakes the dream travelling

angels into the world.

Where the unexpected is met

        on an angel’s path,

there the angel’s sojourn

         comes to rest.

In the presence of an anger,

         one sees the signs

but may not grasp their significance.

Signs first become meaningful,

         after death has effaced

         the angel from earth.

Angels do not die a mortal’s death,

they suddenly fall into enternal sleep

          and go on dreaming.

Whereas hope weaves wings

          on their souls,

angels’ dreams weave their

immortal souls themselves.

One who truly loved an

angel upon their earlthly

encounter, lives forever

   in that angel’s dream.

Love the notion of angels. People do not usually realise they have met them until some time later. Intriguing experiences.
