Thursday morning and after breakfast I pay a visit to my Aunt Anna who had her name day yesterday, who later drives me downtown.

I get to Hobos restaurant where I have access to internet, and answer all my e mails.

I get in touch with the people and friends I want to meet, and have a stroll in Larnaca.

It is cloudy and I can hear thunder and lightning while I am writing inside, and heavy rainfall outside.  By the time I finish the sun is out again, but just for an hour, - enough for me to walk home. Although there are one or two museums I want to visit, the weather conditions are so bad that I decide to walk home instead.  I love walking in the rain, but I am disappointed that it is raining nearly half day today and I cannot do the things I want to do. Of course I am going to have a chance to visit these museums in my next trip in early March, but still I feel trapped under the rain. Talking of rain in Cyprus, it means that this can be really heavy for some time, and then the sun coming out.  Hail is also very popular in Cyprus.

Cypriots drive on the left hand side, while in Athens we drive on the opposite side.  It is difficult for me to drive in Cyprus although I have attempted several times to try and rent a car.  Each time, something happens and I end up without a car.

I went twice to hire one and the person in charge was away.  One other time while ready to hire a car I saw an accident outside the car rental office with some tourists driving on the opposite side.  Another time I was so desperate to rent a car, but I left Greece without my driver's license.  So after all these incidents, I think something like a power prevents me from renting.  So, I am now convinced that I should not attempt to drive a car in Cyprus.

I leave the restaurant and walk through the shopping centre. I am not in the mood of taking photos at all.   At least the whole city is beautifully decorated, and it is not like Athens.  I promise myself to come again in the evening because the whole place will look merrier with the lights and Christmas decorations. I thought I can have some nice shots later this evening.

Indeed a very good friend of mine comes, and he drives me through the streets of Larnaca to the New Airport and Dekelia.  The city of Larnaca is beautifully decorated, and it looks so different with the colorful lights on the buildings, fountains, squares, and along the streets.  Each year they add more and more ornaments and lights, and it is always better to see all this after the sun sets.

This year they have placed the tallest Christmas tree of the whole island in Larnaca, and I am anxious to see it with the lights tonight. We are driving most of the time, and we have so much to catch up with my friend that I don’t want to have him stop here and there just to take photos or videos.  When I take photos I don’t want to rush, and I try to take my time.

I will arrange taking some photos tomorrow night, however the weather is not so promising.  There are clouds in the sky and it seems that we are going to be having heavy rain the whole of this evening.

A few minutes after I am driven home, it starts to rain.  It is wonderful if you are in the house and it is raining outside.  Every now and then I get to the window to see the rain falling. I cross my fingers for tomorrow.  I need a sunny day!
