IT PAYS FOR THE VIEW!

Elitsa Beach of Pouri is another beach I can recommend that it should not be missed. It is rocky though and when we came here the sea was very rough. Even if I had time and had my bathing suite along I would not dare swim, but the view is breathtaking.

It is very close to Zagora, so we set off from here and drove to the village of Pouri. You should have in mind though that the road down the hill is extremely steep and winding all the way down. At some point we thought the brakes caught fire!

I was so scared with the smell of the brakes at that time that I wanted to get back to the main road before it gets dark so I did not enjoy that outing very much.

Now that I see my photos and remember the wild beauty of that spot I regret that we did not go much earlier and stay longer. There is a path from the beach leading to a small chapel -I won't miss it the next time I am up there though!

Have in mind that there is a very small humble tavern somewhere around ….I miss the name now, but it is quite popular and its worth going there for a drink or some fresh fish (catch of the day) since the owner catches them himself.
