FAMILY MOMMENTS!

This and every morning in Doha is special to us. Having our morning cup of coffee the four of us at home are family moments to be cherished and it is wonderful that it is a holiday season for our children too….at least for this first week!

I recall to mind the beautiful family mornings in Greece when our children G and P were with us. I loved preparing our breakfasts and now we are guests in their own home. I find it so sweet.

Our son keeps showing us a list with the places we have to visit that the two of them marked as the highlights of Doha and they insist that they should start showing us around. Personally I don't want to rush things and I want to take it as it comes. I love and enjoy every moment spent at home, cooking and chatting, even working on the computer with my son.

Precious are also those moments when the four of us watch family videos. G and P have a rich collection of home videos with the very best the ones with our little grandchildren on.

Usually after breakfast we get to the swimming pool but there are also times when we prefer to get to the pool after our afternoon tea. Today we decide to spend the whole morning at home by the pool and after lunch we are out for some site-seeing.

I wish I had all my family videos, but they all got destroyed or just disintergrated over time, not like now when everything is digital, but I still have all the photos I took before the digital age

I am glad my Dad had a video camera when I was 7 or 8 believe it or not. So we gathered all those small 8' m.m films and somebody copied them on an old video cassette at first and then on a CD. This is how I learnt to appreciate family videos. Half of this work was done in South Africa when a cousin of mine carried the best cassetes along there and had them copied to one Video cassette at first. A time when nobody could do it in Cyprus.
