Loutraki in the Prefecture of Corinth
Trip Start Sep 12, 2012
13Trip End Ongoing
I picked to visit Loutraki this time as my next destination and one of the reasons is because it is another well known city for its vast natural springs and therapeutic Spas like the one I visited some months back. For those of you who follow my Guides you would surely remember the trip I had to Edipsos thermal springs in Evia. So, I guess outside Evia it is the closest Spa city to visit and I shall try to explore as much as possible again this time! To be honest we had no intention of traveling too far from where we live and Loutraki surely combines the best package, - rare natural environment, a Spa centre, and many places of interest around.
Being a seaside resort and with the beautiful weather of September I am sure that we can enjoy beach holidays as wellamazing resort and I did not regret it. I can say it was not that easy to choose out of a big list of hotels but I also loved the idea that it was a bit outside the city.
We set off at 08:15 and made it to Loutraki in less than 2.30 hours.
Although we were a couple of km from the Isthmus of Corinth this time I did not want to go there because we had to remain in the right direction while to go there we had to get to the other side of the road and then it would have been a big circle to return. Besides, we have been to the Isthmus so many times in the past.
Loutraki is bordered in the west by the Gulf of Corinth with the mountain range of Geraneia dominating north and east. Many people have the impression that the city is in the Peloponese but it is not
I am to be met by some people from the Loutraki Tourism Organization as I am using a Press Pass and we stay in touch through emails and phone calls. I shall try to include as much information as possible in this new Guide and I am excited because the destination provides limitless opportunities for all seasons' breaks.
