Loutraki Thermal Spa and My Experience!

The new building of the Thermal Spa is very impressive not only outside but inside as well and stands in the same place where the old one was. It covers an area of 5.000 sq. metres and when you enter it you instantly feel that you want to try all treatments that are on offer. I envied the people in the pool and wanted to join them. The ideal thing to do is to purchase a package and come here for a real treatment for several days.

There is a continuous flow of people of all ages, locals and people coming throughout the country out here for the healing properties of these waters. Tourists combine their beach holidays and drop by for different treatments mostly out of a package.

I consider the Thermal Spa a Gem in the city of Loutraki and the locals very lucky to have the Spa close to where they live. Treatments are in affordable price and there are so many to choose from.

Well let me travel you out there where the healing and rejuvenating abilities of these natural waters do miracles!

The natural spring hot waters at the bottom of Mount Geraneia are discharged from a great mineral depth. During its journey towards the surface, the pure spring water is being filtered through porous layers and it is greatly enriched with precious trace elements, salts and minerals that its healing properties make it a very strong health ally.

Step One:
Visitors should see the doctor of the Spa who will give the ok and according to their needs and desires they will be instructed for individual programmes for better results.

The variety of programmes and therapies vary and there are plenty to choose from. The most common and very popular is that of the Pool Hydrotherapies and Bath Hydro massaging with waterfalls and jets. This area here keeps busy all the time.

In other words it is the unique spot to rejuvenate both the body and mind, relax and enjoy the treatments.  Personally I visited this Spa twice during my stay.

What I Experienced!

I had a 30 minute Face Aromatherapy by my therapist Anthoula, for deep Hydration the first day that cost me 30.00 euros.

The following day I was told that I could come much earlier if I wished and have the Pool Hydrotherapy. Usually it is for 20 minutes and the cost is 12 euros!

However with an exception I spent an hour out here. The jets were really strong and I enjoyed it a lot.

The next step was the appointment for a body treatment. I had the 40 minute Tea Ritual massage with Fotini which lasted 40 minutes and cost 30.00.  This massage comes from East Asia using the Pantai Luar philosophy and it is an alternative to the traditional massage we all know. (Note: The cost of this individual treatment in hotels usually costs between 100 to 120 euros).

The Tea Ritual treatment is a special massage performed with two heated sachets made of the highest quality of oils and fresh herbs where the sachets are passed over the body quickly. Then slowly rolling movements trace the body several times as the sachets cool. Extra squeezing and pressure are applied to muscles, releasing the herbs and essential oils into the skin. Fotini proved to be an expert on this specific massage and I told her that if I had to grade her she would get an A plus 4*!

It is believed that this treatment stimulates all the senses to accelerate cleansing and drainage for the whole body and I can say it did prov to be true because I still feel the difference 2 days later.
