Where I stayed
AN UNEXPECTED PHONE CALL !
I feel kind of lonely this afternoon –my sister drove me earlier to the hotel where I am to spend the last 3 nights before flying back.
I have already missed everyone back home and in times like these I feel homesick and so lonely that I want to cry.
I have an invitation for two for dinner at an amazing Restaurant in the suburbs of Larnaca for this evening but no matter how many phone calls I make, nobody is available. Most of whom I called are ill so I never mentioned anything about dining, -one or two relatives are just as always busy.
The owner offers to send his wife or daughter to drive me there, but I feel so down that I won't be a good company and I am not in the mood of chatting much tonight. She offers to show me some top secrets of her traditional dishes. I apologize instead and keep the invitation for the coming trip when I return in spring.
The only positive is that I have a fast and free internet in the room so I guess this is how I am going to spend the night. In the round area there are all kinds of restaurants and coffee shops but I am really, very down….until a phone call changes my mood in seconds.
My sister tells me that in less than 5 minutes she is picking me up to drive me see the sunset. Wow! This is the last thing I expected to hear. I am so happy, I pick the camera and I get down finding them waiting for me in the car.
At first we drive all the way to Perivolia, on the other side of the Salt Lake but we are not that lucky because there are several mosquitoes in that area. We judge that it won't be safe to walk out and approach the flamingoes so we get in the car and drive back to Tekke.
As for dinner….who cares!
I offer to treat them with some amazing 'Koupes’ that we bought from a very popular takeaway restaurant on the way back.
Sometimes these cheaper alternatives are better!

Amazing view, another art of Cyprus...
Thanks for taking the time to drop by Vik.
Ah, there are many tricks you can do with a camera/pictures on salt flats, but its not easy on your own
Yes there are many tricks one do with the camera but I like (natural pictures).
I don't add colour or make my photos look like a painting. What you see in ALL my photos is what I see with my eyes and it is the REAL image!
I find it useless to use all different tricks to make the picture look more beautiful. Besides I want to give my friends the authentic scene.
