Trip Start Jul 14, 2001
19Trip End Aug 03, 2001
We fly on the 2nd January, and return the 9th.
I am looking forward to walk in the streets of Paris, visit the Museum of the Louvre, go up the Eiffel Tower, climb the Montmartre hill, visit Nortre-Dame, travel to Disneyland, have a day trip to the Palace of Versailles. All these in 5 days!
Paris is called the City of Light, and so it is!
It is January, and the streets and shops are all decorated with Christmas decorations. The streets are full of lights
It is cold but we don't care!
We want to get advantage of these 8 days, and see as much as possible.
Walking up the hill of Montmartre is fun. Getting up to the top what the visitor sees is wonderful. All those artists in the square with their wonderful paintings trying to persuade you to sit and have your portrait made.
We got up here the first time and we are so impressed so we decide to come again the night before we leave……I am looking forward to it. We have already spotted a restaurant with wonderful music…..and we can hear the sound of the piano playing in there. I am dreaming of a nice bottle of wine along with our dinner that last night before flying back to Athens.
I imagine my self requesting one or two pieces from the piano player while we enjoy our dinner
"Feelings one of my favorite, Yesterday, Dust in the Wind, and many many more".
It is a nice clear day today, so we decide to visit the Eiffel Tower. We have to wait a bit until it opens, and we queue for about half an hour
We have the chance to get the sightseeing tour and have a ride, and we hop on and off whenever we want to see
the sites better.
Most of the day we spend walking around, and of course we want to visit the Louvre. In reality a person needs at least 2 or 3 days to see in detail everything. We don’t have that much time, however we spent 4 hours in there I can remember because we were very tired by the time we were out. The third day we visited Versailles – an interesting trip out in the suburbs of Paris.
A day trip to the Palace of Versailles.
The palace was built in (1661-1719) We got many photos, and it was fun.
I am an adult but feel like a child today.
I can imagine then how all children stepping in Disneyland feel. It is strange but like a child I want to get to every single place in Disneyland.
We arrive early in the morning the moment it opens.
The entrance is magic too. There is a huge Christmas tree in the yard decorated with huge ornaments. I can’t wait!!!!
We are supposed to meet with the driver late at night when the park closes.
We have fun and we take many photos.
If however I compare this Disneyland with the one I visited in California U.S.A.
In the States it was really huge while here is beautiful but much smaller……………anyway I can’t complain.
I am happy to be here….we have the whole day to ourselves and we are determined to have fun.
The rest of the days we do much walking, shopping, and really have fun.
The night before leaving we were up the hill of Montmarte to that beautiful little restaurant I promised myself to go.
I did request many pieces from the piano artist, who pleasantly played for me.
Impressions …..I can’t wait to return back here again!
