The 100.000 square metres of lush and tropical gardens are extended out to the amazing beach of the Nissi beach bay making the place a paradise for vacations. The view from my suite's window is stunning.
I decide to unpack first and get to the beach. I start taking things out of my suitcase but I cannot find the plastic zipped bag with all my clothes in! A thought had passed my mind the previous night as I was carrying the bag into the wardrobe. For a moment I remember I thought to myself…."what if I go to the next destination and leave behind this plastic bag”!! And yes, here I am with no clothes at all.
The worrying is that I had arranged to leave the key on the door when I left early this morning as I did not want to disturb the ladies
"Hi Sis, have you reached Ayia Napa”? Evro asks me.
“Yes, I am here…where are you right now”?
“I am in the car driving and we are just leaving Kato Lefkara”
“Stop the car now and get back” I hurried to say.
She can not understand why I am talking so loudly and quickly and for seconds the voice is lost and she asks me to repeat while she is still driving away from Lefkara.
“At least you are lucky to find me in the area” she replies, and she makes a U turn and heads for the hotel.
Several thoughts are winding in my mind thinking that half of my day will be lost in traveling back to Larnaca to get the clothes. I am so anxious waiting for her to ring and I decide to make some coffee and get to the balcony to come loose. The time of waiting seems endless but to make story short I have my clothes brought to me by my sister who drove all the way from Lefkara so that I could have them.
Now the clothes are all hanged and everything is in order, I check my emails and make several calls. You see I have different appointments on every place I visit and I have to see and talk with certain people. By the time I finish I am a bit sleepy, I decide to skip lunch even though I am on F/B and I lay in bed for an hour or so with eyes closed making plans on what to do next.
Well, it is late in the afternoon and I am out to the beach barefoot walking in the chilly water towards the islet which is opposite the resort. Although it is a sunny beautiful day even tourists coming from colder climates don’t seem to get in the water. There are one or two persons swimming while the rest are either walking or involved in different beach sports which are ample out here. Oh yes…and there are those who are sunbathing trying to get tanned
Along the bay the hotel has 5 Beach Bars but these days only two or three are open. Guests can enjoy their lunch overlooking the crystal clear Mediterranean waters in an open cool air environment.
I come to the shortest extent of the bay opposite the islet only a few metres walk to the other side. It looks like a passage but it seems as if the waters run on the opposite side and suddenly meet. It is so weird…and I walk and come to the other side.
I put on my shoes again as the surface is rocky and I am glad that I made it out here this afternoon. This little islet attracts lots of holiday-makers during the day who come for a stroll or to take photos. It is ideal for snorkelling especially on the back side where the waters have a crystal clear turquoise colour. I take a few photos and I decide to return. The nissi beach bay is so beautiful! It is already late and for a moment I thought that I am probably the only person here. On the way back however I come across a few holiday-makers.
The people in charge of the boats and water sports are tiding and covering all sport equipment before leaving. The day’s work for them seems to be over and they want to secure the boats as there is a possibility of rain and some wind with dust from the Sahara tomorrow.
