Sightseeing in Vienna
Trip Start Aug 24, 2011
13Trip End Sep 01, 2011
Another destination this morning after breakfast and this time we are heading towards Vienna. Its present and past glide so effortlessly making it a city with splendid historical face. Vienna, the city of magnificent imperial palaces, bombastic baroque interiors, majestic museums and outstanding squares. The flowing of the Danube (second longest River in Europe) spreads through the whole city.
Memories…. yes good memories again that always come to mind when I think of Vienna. It is here that we chose to come for our honeymoon. The honeymoon trip was arranged by me as Yianni was working till the very last night before the wedding away from Athens.
I wanted the honeymoon to be long so I booked 3 different destinations
So for almost 3 weeks we were out on our honeymoon away from work and worries. While in Vienna we had the chance to walk in beautiful squares, impressive parks, visit museums but also had a couple of daily excursions to the enchanting Vienna Woods, Baden and Mayerling.
So, here we are after all these years on this trip to Vienna once again but with 42 other people so different in character, opinion and style on a guided tour!
Vienna, the city of Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert, Strauss, Brahms, who knows how many others I have forgotten right now! All these people have immortalized Vienna's urban textures in song. I am sure if you hear the word 'Vienna’ the first thing that comes to mind is music.
When we came to the Palace of Schonbrunn I decided to take a long walk in the gardens instead, something that I did not do the previous time. Throughout the years I have visited so many palaces in my life that I don’t think I can stand visiting any more. We had a long walk in the city, and the guide gave stress to the Greek neighborhood, and we ended the tour at a nice restaurant. I am not getting into details but post some photos instead.
