Where I stayed
We step off the coach and have a long walk by the City Park very close to the impressive Heroes’ Square with its 40 high columns. In the year 1900 this memorial won the first prize at the World Exhibition in Paris. Many of the statues here represent Hungarian Monarchs and Princes of Transylvania. On the centre of the Monument the seven figures represent the leaders of the seven Hungarian tribes.
Since the year 2002 the Millennium Monument along with Andrasy Avenue is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites.
The next worth to mention spot we visited was Saint’s Stephen’s Cathedral, one of the most important church buildings in Hungary. Truly it is one of the most significant tourist attractions in the city and the third highest building in Hungary.
